Sylvia’s philosophy of education has evolved through the years as she has studied, researched, and worked with children and families. She has dedicated her professional life to creating a village in support of our families. Sylvia believes that young children are born learning. That is why she created a school where as soon as you walk in, you know this place is special. A place where children are filled with joy, where children express their creativity, their emotions are valued and their theories are researched.

As a young professional, at an intuitive level, Claudia strongly believed that teaching had much more to do with discovering the wealth of knowledge that lays within a person and nurturing their thinking and desire to express it, than about handing over volumes of information to commit to memory. As her professional journey continued, her formation nurtured that intuition with philosophical frameworks that built her strong understanding about the process of learning. A process which understands the potential that exists within human being, especially children – Children unconstrained and free beings – willing to take risks and approach unknown frontiers and challenge known convention. The capability and promise of humanity is what sparks her love and mission in education – Her philosophy of education, stems from her years observing children’s astounding and extraordinary strengths and capabilities. She finds that when children are provided the time and space they need to experiment and explore their creativity, they tap into their inner artist/genius and feel free to express themselves. For over 20 years, her work as an educator, been to support schools; the child, the teacher and the parent, so that together as a Community of Learners, they may pursue complexity and richness of thought and express it through multiple languages; color, clay, song and dance. It is her life’s joy and love to co-design opportunities to engage teachers and parents to join children in the wonderful and joyful journey of discovery, exploration and wonder!
