Bottega Parents allow children to explore, and understand their environment. They nurture their knowledge and motivate them constantly to comprehend the world around them.
Our community of parents began to grow two years ago when we created Bottega Community of Parents (BCP). The name highlights the true essence of our partnership with our parents. Our families at Bottega come from all over the world. Many of them have a long history of living in the Miami area and some other families have moved to Miami very recently. Bottega Child Development Center becomes a network for families that support each other and the school.
Parents as Partners
Parents participation is considered essential and takes many forms. They play an active part in their children’s learning experience and help ensure the welfare of all the children in the school. At Bottega, parents are invited to exchange ideas with our teachers and as the integration of different wisdoms to help support the child, children and / or school itself. Parents also support their children’s processes taking active roles in the school, through different committees that contribute to special events, documentation and activities, according to each parent’s time and talent.
As the children walk into our school we enjoy observing their individuality. The way they encounter the environment, their peers, and the faculty. As time passes each child begins to unveil their inner self by sharing ideas, individual learning style, skills, creativity, and the different ways they see the world. Our Bottega children have a voice and it is heard in our school.
The Bottega Teacher nurtures, models, listens, connects, guides and researches.
Our Teacher Researcher facilitates and partners with the child as co-constructor of knowledge. They connect emotionally with the child, building strong relationships and supporting the children in forming a sense of belonging, which allows them to feel safe and develop a sense community.
